Greetings in Jesus’ Name from Chuck and Linda Truitt,

1 Timothy 1:12 “And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;”

Presently we are in Largo, Florida where there is a great church and pastor nearby, and we are basically awaiting our next ministry, while getting our medical situation squared away; my medical is being mostly handled by the VA, but Linda has issues that are finally being addressed as well.

I am definitely having some cancer removed from my right ear, as well as others that are being treated separately. The doctor said to expect about 5 hours on my ear; really? I told him that I’ll not be happy if I end up looking like Spock! I wasn’t very assured by his look after that. Oh well, it is what it is! I have had three concussion that are cumulatively affecting me; they call it TBI on my VA record.

Additionally, Agent Orange exposure has shown up in at least two different aspects. Three other operations are tentatively planned after I get my A1C below 8.0. My last two checks were 8.1 and 8.4. My left shoulder operation is a definite if I decide to go through with it, and both knees are as well, especially my left one. I’ve got two canes, but I prefer hanging onto a shopping cart when possible. Falling over is an option, but I really hate that one, especially when it involves falling next to, or off the pulpit. Enough of that, “just because I carry a cane doesn’t mean that I’m elderly!”

This place where we are located, Four Seasons Estates, has about 350 homes with folks that are 55 and up, and just after coming here they asked me to be their Chaplain, which I accepted. About a week later I said, “If I’m to be the chaplain here, how about letting me hold Sunday services in the club house/meeting center? About 2/3 of the people are Snowbirds from places like Canada, Scotland, England, and northern states, so about the time I got things rolling most of the folks had left for other parts of the world. Never the less I had and 82 year old man trust in Christ, as well as a lady, Sharon, about my age (66) get saved. I led her to the Lord while Linda and I visited her at her home.

Please keep us in your prayers for our medical, and health, as well as our ministry. Pray for Kenny Wells, a 90 year old who lives down the street. Kenny is a Marine who was wounded and won a Bronze Star at the Battle of Sugarloaf on Okinawa in May 1945. I’m sure looking to seem him trust in Christ.

We are available for meetings for the next several months – please contact us! Once again I want to thank you all. And, always remember to thank God for everything – Colossians 1:12-14.

In Christ’s Service,

Chuck and Linda Truitt
