Greetings in Jesus’ Name from Naples, Italy,
One month from now, the 16th of November 2013, Linda and I are scheduled to arrive back in the States for a necessary VA appointment. I found out in June that they had scheduled me for another medical exam in July, but after some quick calls back to the States they agreed to delay it for as long as December. I’m not sure what’s going to happen with the government shutdown, but I’ll be there and ready. This will also allow us to spend Christmas with our children and grand children for the first time since 2003.
Here at the Bible Baptist Church in Naples, Missionaries Matt and Diane Olsen will replace Linda and I. Upon our return we’ll be teaming together from the Spring in 2014. Yesterday was a really good day as we had an appointment with the senior chaplain on the base, Commander Biadog, who walked over and met us at the main gate to sign on missionaries Matt, and Diane Olsen (I already have a letter of authorization to get on base). We were invited to a picnic at the unmarried personnel barracks where we prayed in Jesus’ Name for the Voluntary Meal. Several interested contacts were made there at the barracks! 🙂
Please pray for Linda and me, for our health; I’ve had a chest cold for several days; Linda’s right knee is still bothering her which keeps her from doing much that requires her to move around and she has trouble sleeping as a result. Please pray that things will go well with my VA appointments. I guess we’re just getting older… and my rugged earlier life and Marine Corps and Vietnam service are showing up in some not so nice ways.
Pray for the ministry here in Naples; there are three here that need to be baptized, to reach more military families, more African refugees, and of course for more salvations. Also, please pray for the Olsens as they minister in Naples.
We are tentatively available for meetings from 24 November – 15 December, and 1 January – 23 February.
In Christ’s Service,
Chuck & Linda Truitt
