Dear Praying Friends,
“For though I be absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Christ” (Colossians 2:5). It has been a blessing to hear of the church in Mexico City thriving in our absence. They have had attendances as high as 221 a couple of times with over 150 adults filling the auditorium and 70 children in the junior churches.
The last few Sundays, they have seen two people saved. Amerika is a twelve-year-old girl whose parents, Anselmo and Katarina, were led to the Lord by one of our bus captains, Gaspar, last fall and have been attending ever since. Anselmo has bad kidneys and is on dialysis six hours a day and cannot work. They struggle financially as Katarina does her best to provide for the family with a small store and selling tacos in the evening. Amerika is a big help to her in both tasks and has had to grow up quickly.
This summer, Amerika brought the most visitors in VBS, but this fall Amerika was saved under Oscar’s preaching. Also saved this September was a man named Bernabe. Sofia and Lucia, are two retired military nurses, a lieutenant colonel and captain respectively, who were reached and baptized in this last year. Both are leaders in Amway here in Mexico and had been bringing their associate to church since our last day in the church in August.
Please pray as the church will be beginning their four-week fall evangelistic services on the 29th of October and will end the 19th of November. I will be in Mexico City for the church’s thirteenth anniversary on the 12th of November and will leave there on the 21st. It will be a time of transition as Byron Cromwell and his wife Judy from our sending church will be filling in for us and preaching and teaching from mid-November until mid-February. I am so glad for their help and sacrifice. Please pray for them that they are a blessing to our church as I know they will.
Our sending church, Fairhaven Baptist Church, has been such a blessing to us on furlough as they have let us stay in their fully-furnished missionary apartment, put our two boys in the Christian school, and have received us back into the congregation where we have felt right at home getting re-acquainted with old friends and working together to bring people to church in the fall evangelistic campaign.
We have already been reporting to several churches as well as participating in some missions conferences. We are especially grateful to two churches who have chosen to partner with us to reach Mexico City for Christ: Victory Baptist Church in Harlingen, Texas, and Heritage Baptist Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. If you are interested in us reporting the work that God has done through us in Mexico City, you may contact us at: 210-727-9396 or [email protected].
Thank you so much for your prayers for us and our church in Mexico City and thank you as always for your faithful economic support.
For His Cause,
Clint Rardin
