Lewises in South Korea

These months were incredibly busy and very difficult.  One of my Korean preacher boys lost a long battle with leukemia and went home to be with the Lord. We prayed for God to heal his body and restore his health.  Many would think that God did not answer our prayers; however, they would be wrong.  God did answer our prayer; Brother Kim is now in perfect heath!  He will never be sick again!  We are saddened by the fact that he is no longer with us but we greatly rejoice knowing we will see him again!

January 27th was one of the most difficult days in our ministry.  Our church knew that we would soon go on furlough but they didn’t know that we would not be returning to Yongsan Baptist Church.  After preaching the evening service I made the announcement.  When we return to Korea we will be starting a new church near Osan Air Force Base.  I had spent much time preaching and teaching our people about following the will of God.  So, when they understood that it is God’s will for us to move on they committed to pray for the new work.  Many even asked if they could come and help us pass out tracts and invite people.  Praise the Lord for the gracious attitude of our people.

In February, Missionary Eddie Ray came and preached our “Missions Revival”.  What a huge blessing!  Our folks where faithful to the meetings, responded well to the preaching, and obeyed the Lord in the matter of giving.  The Faith Promise commitment increased and more missionaries can now be supported.  Reaching people with the gospel is the reason we are on this planet!  Praise the Lord that Yongsan Baptist Church is committed to that endeavor!

March 10th was our last Sunday at YBC.  It was a heart wrenching time of goodbyes.  The church had planned a wonderful fellowship lunch for us.  They showed their tremendous love for us and sent us off like royalty. After more than 13 years of service in Yongsan Baptist Church it was time to go.

We ask for your fervent prayers as we travel on furlough and as a new chapter begins in our service for our great God and Savior Jesus Christ!

We can be reached while on furlough through Madison Baptist Church or you can call my phone: (256) 337-1269.

God Bless you and thank you so very much for your prayers and faithful support!
