Abuse is a terrible epidemic that has plagued the world recently, and unfortunately many people in our country, cities, towns, and homes have been victimized by one sort of abuse or another. The predators range from sex offenders to physical abuse, even from people within their own family. Some are destroying themselves by abusing drugs, alcohol, tobacco, etc. Perhaps you are struggling to find relief from the burden, stress, and guilt that normally accompanies these problems. If so, allow us to introduce you to the truth and love of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ through the ministry of Fairhaven Baptist Church: Help4U.
We would love to visit you and tell you more about this ministry, but, even more so, would love for you to visit us each week on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. We have a wonderful time of testimony and teaching from the Word of God. Also, we join the church congregation for the mid-week service to praise the Lord in song and be spiritually challenged by the Word of God. If you would like to receive more information confidentially or would like for someone to contact you from the Help4U Recovery Program, please call (219) 926-6636 and simply ask.
The Jolly 60's is a ministry of Fairhaven Baptist Church that provides good Christian fun and fellowship for our senior citizens in our church and community. The Jolly 60's meets every Wednesday morning at 11 a.m. Our service includes singing choruses, sharing prayer requests, preaching and special music. Each week we have a different activity following the preaching time. We have Christian films, games, musical performances, guest speakers, and much more. Once a month we go on a special field trip that is easily affordable. Sometimes we go on boat rides, visit museums, or just go out for a nice meal at a local restaurant. Some of the highlights of the year include our Thanksgiving Banquet, Christmas party, and a summertime picnic at the park.
What Makes Jolly 60's Unique?
Our Jolly 60's ministry is unique for several reasons. It is a ministry that has senior citizens coming from many different churches and several denominations. It is also a ministry where the seniors are able to reach out to often forgotten shut-ins. One of the greatest things about this group is that we know how to laugh and have good, clean, Christian fun. However, the most important thing is that we include the Lord in everything we do.
Join Us this Wednesday!
If you are a senior citizen who is looking for good Christian fellowship, please join us on Wednesday. We also provide transportation from the local areas. If you need transportation or have any questions, please call the church at 926-6636.
Finding a place where as a single you can grow spiritually, serve the Lord, and make great Christian friends is becoming hard to accomplish. Through this ministry the Word of God is taught and exalted, abundant opportunities exist for ministering to others, and there are many opportunities for fellowshipping and making friends that last a lifetime!
Service to God
All of our single members are encouraged to serve the Lord in many different areas. Whether it be participating in the music program, teaching in a Bible club, or encouraging seniors in a nursing home, singles are encouraged to place the Lord first in their life.
Friends and Fellowship
Having Godly friends and enjoying refreshing fellowship is an integral part of the singles ministry. Every week there are opportunities after church for an ice cream at the Snack Shop or often a time to cheer on the college basketball team. Sometimes special activities are held where trips are taken to the ball game, concerts in Lincoln Park, or just a relaxing cookout near our 20-acre lake.
Couples who have been married under seven years are able to participate in various activities, enjoy fellowship, and receive spiritual challenges relevant to young married couples.
Oftentimes forgotten, Spanish-speaking people are loved and welcomed at Fairhaven Baptist Church. To this end we have developed special programs just for them, yet they are still a part of the church as a whole. Each person is encouraged to trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and then given the tools to be a successful Christian. Often through this ministry friends are made and good fellowship is to be had.
Preaching in Spanish
So that the church may be together for all of our services, messages during Sunday and Thursday services are translated for those who speak Spanish.
Each week classes are held to teach Spanish-speaking people English. Hundreds of people have successfully completed and graduated from this program.
